A MoneyGram-on-Solana "launch" so far exists only as a hype post and a fire emoji

Solana's official account amplified a booster's post claiming MoneyGram Ramps is live on the network, but no MoneyGram or Solana Foundation announcement, fee data, or corridor detail has surfaced with it.

At 16:30 UTC on 11 August 2026, an account posting as Will (@theonlywill) wrote that "MoneyGram Ramps is now live on @Solana," attaching a promotional video and three headline figures: 60 million-plus active customers, 500,000-plus retail locations, 200-plus countries. Eight minutes later, at 16:38 UTC, Solana's official @solana account replied with three fire emoji, and the post carries an "RT by @solana" marker — the network's own channel amplifying the claim rather than making it.

That is the entirety of the confirmation trail as it stands. No MoneyGram press release, no MoneyGram social account post, no Solana Foundation blog entry and no on-chain data accompanies the announcement. The post does not say which stablecoin the ramps settle in, which corridors or countries are actually enabled at launch versus the 200-plus in MoneyGram's global footprint, what the fees are, who the custody or issuance partner is, or whether "live" means generally available or a limited rollout.

The three customer-scale numbers are MoneyGram-style corporate metrics repeated by a third party, not figures MoneyGram published in connection with this launch. They describe the company's total network, not usage of any crypto product on Solana.

The real-world read

The framing here is doing heavy lifting. "The Everything Chain keeps expanding" is Solana marketing language, deployed by a booster account and then endorsed by Solana's own channel — an interested party amplifying favourable copy about itself. A slickly produced video and a fire-emoji reply are not a launch confirmation, and the absence of anything from MoneyGram — the party whose product this supposedly is — is the loudest thing about the story.

The replies show the mechanism working as intended: one account posted "$600 Solana in 2027. Buy MORE," another declared remittances "faster and cheaper" and "bullish for real-world use" with no fee or settlement-cost figure anywhere in evidence. A third reply parodied the format by announcing MoneyGram Ramps was "now live on Loom" — a joke that lands precisely because the template is interchangeable.

Opinion, and whose

The "$600 Solana in 2027" and "bullish for real-world use" calls belong to @CuzEyeCriptoes and @x_insider4 respectively — anonymous replies, no analysis attached. The characterisation of Solana as "The Everything Chain" is @theonlywill's, echoed by @solana. None of it is established fact.
